Telespazio UK is the prime contractor for the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts’s (ECMWF) Evaluation and Quality Control (EQC) for Sectoral Information Systems (SIS) project, which has the responsibility of evaluating the fitness-for-purpose, reliability, user relevance and quality of the SIS contracts within the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). The EQC for SIS project has three main objectives:
- Define an EQC for SIS Framework to allow C3S users to assess whether SIS services and data are fit-for-purpose
- Ensure SIS tools, workflows and applications accepted into the C3S Climate Data Store (CDS) are of good quality and uphold the required standards
- Ensure user relevance of the C3S via user engagement, collecting user requirements (URs), maintaining the User Requirement Database (URDB) and analysing SIS-related URs.
Telespazio UK brings a strong heritage of service management, climate and quality control activities, including key experience with the CDS and C3S User Requirements. Telespazio UK is the prime contractor responsible for overall service management and coordination, as well as the development and implementation of the EQC Framework and management of the operational URDB.
