The day commenced with an address from CEO, Sarah Macken, who have an overview the company’s performance. This was followed by Head of Marketing and Sales, Geoff Busswell, sharing details about future opportunities for the company, and Head of HR, Caroline Wells, updating attendees about HR activities and the importance of social value to the business.
There were many highlights of the day, with the main one being guest speaker Dallas Campbell, who spoke about 'How to Leave the Planet in Five Objects’. Dallas is best known as one of the launch presenters of Bang Goes the Theory on BBC1 and is also an author, speaker and ambassador for UK science education.
Dallas said “The Telespazio event was a masterclass in how to make employees feel valued, engaged, and connected. It was fun, fascinating and a privilege to be part of the day.”
Following the panel session on the subject of ‘Overcoming the Challenges of Delivering Projects’, the afternoon was dedicated to a project showcase featuring some of the major projects that Telespazio is working on. These included James Webb Space Telescope, EarthCARE Data Innovation & Science Cluster, Moonlight, EO Datahub, XMM-Newton’s 25th anniversary, VAUTAP and UniCore.
The business part of the day was followed by a barbecue – which was planned to be on the lawn, though the weather had different ideas!
