Deimos-1-2, owned and operated by Deimos Imaging and distributed by Telespazio UK, is an agile satellite for cost-effective, dependable very-high-resolution EO applications. It provides 75cm pan-sharpened images with a 12km swath from its orbital altitude of 620km.
Deimos-1-2 is operated 24/7, with a network of four ground stations which assures a contact every orbit, and therefore the capacity of commanding the satellite and downloading data every 90 minutes. Launched in June 2014, it entered Initial Operational Capability in November 2014 and Full Operational Capability in May 2015.
Deimos-1-2 provides 75cm pan-sharpened imagery and 3 metre multi-spectral images. Its multi-spectral capability includes 4 channels (red, green, blue, NIR), plus the panchromatic band.
Deimos-1-2 has a swath of 12km, and it is be able to acquire imagery in strip mode (up to 1500km long), or in spot mode, shifting between various targets. In addition, it has a wide-area acquisition mode, which can acquire in a single pass a 24km wide strip, up to 200km long. It is also capable of same-pass stereo imaging.
