EOSure Industry Survey

26 July 2022

Building on the importance of high-quality satellite data, Telespazio UK and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) are working closely with the European Space Agency (ESA) and European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) to explore how to better understand and improve the quality assurance of the whole end-to-end Earth Observation (EO) Supply chain.

The EOSure project, which is led by Telespazio UK, aims to define a Quality Assurance Facility and EO Product Certification scheme.

The project team is currently in the process of gathering feedback from all parts of the EO supply chain, from individuals and companies that use, supply or work with EO data. We would like your perspective.

The project focuses on the following activities:

  • An EO industry-wide survey to understand user metadata, validation and certification requirements throughout the EO supply chain
  • A pilot EO Industry Certification activity, certifying 10 organisations to the EARSC Quality Management System (QMS) certification scheme
  • A pilot Product Certification process, investigating the need for such a scheme and identifying and piloting the approach for EO product chain.

We kindly invite you to participate in the survey here about user metadata, quality and certification requirements throughout the EO supply chain.

It is an opportunity for you to have your say and influence future changes to EO metadata standards and certification! The deadline for the survey is 15 August 2022.

If you have any questions, please email eosure@telespazio.com. Please also feel free to forward this onto anyone else you feel would be interested.
