Telespazio is a member of Space4Climate, which is a community of UK academic, government and industry organisations with expertise in Earth Observation climate data.
Space4Climate was been chosen, from a selection of exhibitors and events of around 4,000 initial proposals, to showcase the UK’s world-leading expertise in Earth Observation and climate data from space in the Green Zone at COP26, which took place at the Glasgow Science Centre and was open to the public.
Throughout the two-week United Nations Climate Conference, visitors to the Space4Climate stand were treated to a variety of interactive displays to see how Earth Observation works and how we measure, monitor and model our climate from space. There was also the opportunity to discover and explore the informative and interactive PufferSphere® globe.
At COP26, Telespazio UK demonstrated the Climate Risk Index from Space Platform (CRISP), giving visitors the opportunity to learn about how satellite data can help determine the level of climate risk for a location of interest.
We also presented a poster about Monitoring the Australian Gold Coast, along with the video below.
On 10 November, Telespazio contributed to two sessions in the Space & Geospatial Virtual Pavilion, as follows:
- How space can support the COP framework
Geoff Busswell
13:00-13:30 - Future of Transport
Geraint Cooksley
13:00-13:20
